Project Setup: Creating Projects.
Overview
Project Setup is the central area where you configure and customise a Rapport experience.
When a new project is created, Rapport automatically prepares a working experience using either a template scenario or the For Software Developers card. This allows you to interact with the character immediately before making any changes.
From Project Setup you can configure everything about your experience — including characters, voice, AI behaviour, branding, and interaction controls.

What Project Setup Controls
Project Setup is the main configuration area for each project. Here you define how your character looks, sounds, and interacts with users.
You can:
Rename your project
Select or customise your Character
Configure Language & Voice
Choose an AI Service
Add guidance using the Info Panel
Configure the Start Message
Customise branding, layout, and controls
Adjust advanced behaviour in Advanced Settings
How Projects Are Created
Projects are typically created from the template grid shown when you sign in.
The process is simple:
Sign in — your Organisation and Workspace are automatically created
Browse the Template Grid
Preview a scenario
Choose Save & Share or Edit Template
When you select Edit or Save, the project is created inside your Workspace and opened in Project Setup.
💡 Nothing is saved until you choose to Edit or Share a template.
What You’ll Configure
The first item in Project Setup is your Project Name, which is inherited from the template and can be changed at any time.

Language & Voice | Define how your character listens and speaks |
AI Service | Choose the AI model and conversational behaviour |
Info Panel | Optional on-screen instructions for guided experiences |
Start Message | The first text or audio message delivered by the avatar |
Appearance & Interaction | Configure background, branding, and visual layout |
Controls | Define how users interact with the character |
Advanced Settings | Fine-tune AI, STT, and TTS providers |
Services in Project Setup
Rapport connects AI, speech recognition, and voice synthesis through Services.
Two types are available:
