Project Setup: Creating Projects in Rapport

Overview

Project Setup is where everything comes together — name, character, language, voice, AI, layout, and controls — to create your interactive experience.

With the new onboarding flow, you’ll arrive here with a working project automatically created from either a Template or the For Software Developers card.

What It Is

Project Setup is the central configuration area for each Rapport Project.
Here, you define how your character looks, sounds, behaves, and interacts.

You can:

  • Rename your project

  • Choose or customise your Character

  • Configure Language & Voice

  • Select an AI Service

  • Configure the Info Panel to guide users in role-plays or tutorials

  • Adjust Layout, Branding, and Controls

  • Fine-tune everything in Advanced Settings

How You Get Here

  1. Sign-Up / Sign-In — Rapport automatically prepares your Organisation and Workspace.

  2. Template Grid — You’re presented with ready-to-run scenarios and a Developer card.

  3. Preview a Scenario — Interact freely, then return to the grid at any time.

  4. Save or Edit — Selecting Edit Template or Save & Share opens Project Setup where the project is created in your Workspace.

💡 Nothing is saved until you choose to edit or share a template.

Once here, you can use the project as-is or step through the left-hand menu — from Project Name down to Advanced Settings — to review and modify any configuration.

What You’ll Configure

The first menu item in Project Setup is your Project Name.

  • Inherits automatically from the template (e.g., Discovery Call)

  • You can rename anytime by clicking the name field

Configure how users interact (voice, text, or buttons).

Fine-tune providers, prompts, and credentials.

Services at a Glance

Rapport connects your AI, Text-to-Speech (TTS), and Speech-to-Text (STT) providers through two service types:

Preconfigured, ready-to-use integrations (OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, Rapport Voice Pack). Credentials are managed securely by Rapport. Some fields are editable per project.

My Services

Workspace Admin-created integrations using your organisation’s own credentials. Fully reusable across all Workspace projects.

Bring Your Own Credentials (BYOC)

If you’re a Workspace Admin, you can connect your own provider credentials:

  1. Go to Workspace → My Services

  2. Choose AI, TTS, or STT

  3. Click Add New

  4. Enter provider details and credentials

  5. Click Save — your service is now available across all Workspace projects

💡 Note: All credentials are encrypted and never shared outside your organisation.
They remain fully under your control and can be edited or revoked at any time by Workspace Admins through My Services. Use this option if your organisation has specific compliance, cost, or regional data requirements that need custom service credentials.

Configuring Services in Advanced Settings

You can switch or update providers at any time:

  1. Go to Project Setup → Advanced Settings

  2. Open the AI, TTS, or STT tabs

  3. Select another Rapport Service or one from My Services

  4. Adjust editable fields (e.g., prompt, temperature, or language)

Quick Start Recap

  1. Sign up or log in → Organisation & Workspace auto-created

  2. Choose a Template or Developer card → Project auto-created

  3. Open Project Setup → Edit name, character, language/voice, AI

  4. Preview instantly → Defaults are fully functional

  5. Share or deploy → Host link or integration
