Quick Start Guide – Creating Your First Project

Build and test your first AI-powered digital character in minutes — no coding required

Step 1: Sign Up or Log In

1. Go to rapport.cloud

2. Sign up for a free account or log in

After login, you’ll be directed to your Organisation dashboard.

From here, you can access your Workspaces and start creating Projects.

Step 2: Enter Your Workspace

Inside your Organisation:

1. Click on the Workspace you want to use

2. This takes you to your Workspace dashboard, where you’ll see any existing Projects and Assets

If you just signed up, your first Workspace is automatically created — you just need to open it.

✅ Just go with it: Your Workspace is pre-configured so you can start right away.

Step 3: Create a New Project

Inside your Workspace:

1. Click Create New Project

2. Choose your Application Type:

   • Web Page – A hosted, full-screen experience you can share instantly

   • Web Widget – An embeddable version for your website

   • Unreal – For game or 3D integration

   • (Unity and mobile support coming soon)

   ✅ Just go with it: If you’re not sure, choose Web Page — it’s the fastest way to see results.

3. Select a Template to jumpstart your build:

   • Templates come preconfigured with a character, voice, and AI setup

   • You can use the default template or browse for one that matches your goal

Tip: Templates make first-time setup faster Stick with the default for your first run, it’s fully set up and ready to preview— you can always customise later.

Step 4: Select Your Services

New to Rapport and My Services - for an overview

By default, your Project uses Rapport Services for AI, TTS (voice), and STT (speech recognition).

You can click Advanced Settings to switch to a custom service later, but for now:

✅ Just go with it: Leave the defaults as-is — they’re preconfigured and secure, so you can start interacting with your character right away.

Options Available:

• Rapport Services – Preconfigured, ready-to-use providers (no setup required)

• My Services – Custom services created by your Workspace Admin, using your organisation’s own credentials

Tip: If you need a specific provider or API key that isn’t listed, ask your Workspace Admin to add it under Workspace > My Services so everyone on your team can use it.

Step 5: Configure Language & Voice

When using Generative AI, language and voice are closely linked:

• Language: Rapport automatically selects the best Speech-to-Text provider for your chosen language (priority: Whisper → Azure → Google → AWS).

• Voice: By default, the Rapport Voice Pack is selected — a mix of high-quality voices from Google, AWS, Azure, and ElevenLabs.

You can:

• Use the dropdown filter to quickly find voices by language

• Try a few different voices to match your character’s style

✅ Just go with it: Keep the default language and voice to get started fast — you can experiment later once you see how it works.

Step 6: Customise Your Project

Use the left-hand menu to fine-tune every part of your experience: Or just go with the defaults. The default settings allow you to just try the experience. If you want to make changes then:

Core Setup

• Project Setup – Name and description

• Character – Choose from your workspace or the public library

• Language & Voice – As described above

• AI Settings – Select which AI model to use, and tune parameters like prompt, temperature, etc.

Visual & Interaction Settings

• Start Message – The first thing your character will say

• Branding & Background – Add your logo, change colours, set a theme

• Controls – Enable push-to-talk, chat log, or hide/show Rapport branding

Changes update in real-time — no need to redeploy.

Step 7: Preview & Interact

The live preview panel shows your character in action.

1. Unmute mic and speaker

2. Say hello or type a message

3. Watch your character respond — with voice, animation, and lip-sync

You can continue tweaking settings and see the changes take effect immediately.

Step 8: Share or Deploy

Once you’re happy with your Project:

Once you like what you see:

• Copy the link to share your Project as a hosted web page

• Or grab the widget code to embed it in your website

• Just go with it: Sharing the hosted page is the simplest option for demos or team feedback.

  • Web Page: Share the hosted demo link directly

  • Web Widget: Copy the embed code to add to your site

  • Unreal: Integrate into your game or app via the Unreal Plugin
