Quick Start Guide

The fastest path from a new account to your first scored role play — sign in, pick a Scenario Template, set up your delivery channel, assign it to a learner, and review their results in Analytics.

Before you begin

The journey starts on our website. You can arrive via the pricing table — selecting Trial, Pro, or Business — or by clicking Sign up for free.

You'll also need:

  • An email address for at least one learner you'd like to invite

  • A few minutes to complete onboarding

💡 No installation required — Rapport runs entirely in your browser.

💡 Custom plans: If you select Custom on the pricing table, you complete a contact form instead of creating an account. The team follows up directly and no platform is assigned automatically. See Accounts & Access for details.

ℹ️ Inviting teammates to help manage scenarios and learners is available on Business and Enterprise plans. If you are on one of these plans, see Organization Settings. You can do this at any point after setup.

Step 1 — Sign up and complete onboarding

Create your account

Sign up with email and password or with Google. You will receive a verification email — click the link to activate your account before continuing.

💡 Returning users sign in directly and skip onboarding. The onboarding flow is shown only once.

Complete the 4-step qualification

A short in-app flow collects your details and routes you to the right experience:

Step

What you provide

About You

Name, organization, and marketing communications preference

Your Role

Your function — for example Learning and Development, Sales, HR

Company

Your company size band

Your Goal

What you are hoping to create or do with Rapport. Selecting Create role plays for training routes you to the Roleplay Platform. Selecting Build experiences routes you to Rapport Studio.

Payment (Pro and Business only)

After qualification, Pro and Business plans are routed to Stripe Checkout to add payment details. On successful payment you land on your platform. If payment fails or is abandoned you can retry — your account remains active.

Trial users skip this step and land on the platform immediately after qualification.

When onboarding is complete, your Organization is created automatically. Users who selected "Create role plays for training" are taken to their Scenario Templates library.

Step 2 — Pick a Scenario Template

In the left sidebar, open Scenario Templates. Each template is a ready-to-run practice scenario, tagged by domain.

Open a template to preview the roleplay, the skills it targets, and the kind of feedback learners receive. When you find one that fits, click Save to My Scenarios — your personal library of scenarios you have activated.

Step 3 — Set up how learners will access scenarios

Before adding learners, decide how they will access your scenarios. Open Learners in the sidebar and look for the Delivery Channels section at the top of the page.

Learner Portal — learners receive an invitation and sign in at https://learner-portal.rapport.cloud/ to access their assigned scenarios. Enable this if you are inviting learners directly.

ℹ️ LMS / SCORM Integration — coming soon. Learners will be able to access scenarios directly through your LMS without signing in to Rapport. Available on Pro and above.

Step 4 — Add a learner

With your delivery channel set up, add the people you would like to assign practice to. Click Invite Learner, enter their name and email, and Rapport sends them an invitation.

Once added, open the learner's record and assign at least one scenario — they will see it the next time they sign in to the portal.

💡 The Learner Portal lives at https://learner-portal.rapport.cloud/. Learners only see what has been assigned to them — never the admin tools.

ℹ️ Learners are added here in the Learners section. To invite a teammate to help manage scenarios or analytics, use Organization Settings in the sidebar.

Step 5 — Have a learner run the scenario

Your learner signs into the Learner Portal with their email, picks an assigned scenario, and runs through the role play with an AI character. Every attempt is scored and recorded.

A typical first-time experience:

  1. Sign in at https://learner-portal.rapport.cloud/

  2. Open the assigned scenario

  3. Run the role play in the browser

  4. See an immediate breakdown of how the attempt went

Step 6 — Review results in Analytics

Back in Rapport, open Analytics in the sidebar. You will see:

  • KPIs — scenarios completed, average overall score, average attempts per learner, average duration

  • Learner progress over time

  • First vs last attempt comparisons to show measurable improvement

The Home dashboard surfaces a subset of these KPIs as a daily-use overview.

You are set up

In a few minutes you have signed up, activated a template, set up your delivery channel, assigned it to a learner, and seen the results come back as data. From here, repeat the loop with more scenarios and more learners — and use Analytics to spot where your team needs the most practice.
