Project Setup: Customising the Look & Feel.

Make It Yours

Once you’ve chosen your application type (Web Page or Web Widget), you can tailor the appearance and interaction behaviour of your project. These options live in the Project Setup menu on the left-hand side of Rapport.

Not every feature applies to both Web Pages and Web Widgets, so we’ve marked where differences exist.

Start Message (Web Page & Web Widget)

The Start Message is what your character says at the very beginning of the session.

You can:

• Write a custom greeting

• Use an existing script or audio asset

• Create a new script or audio asset directly from here

This is your chance to welcome users, introduce the character, or set the scene.

Logo (Web Page only)

For Web Pages, you can upload a custom logo that appears in the top-right corner.

This option isn’t available for Web Widgets.

Background (Web Page & Web Widget)

Customise the background to fit your brand:

• Colour – pick from the colour picker or use a HEX code

• Gradient – blend colours for a modern effect

• Image – upload a custom background image

Theme (Web Page only)

Themes control the look of the chat interface.

Choose from several pre-set options such as:

• Light / Blue

• Dark / Red

• Light / Grey

Widgets don’t support custom themes — they always use default styling.

Controls

The Controls section lets you fine-tune interaction behaviour. Options vary by application type.

Web Page Controls:

• Start automatically or require a “Start” button

• Mic and speaker muted/unmuted by default

• Show/hide chat log toggle

• Allow users to rotate the character

• Show transcript by default

• Add “End session” button

• Enable text input for chat

• Add “Push to talk” button

Web Widget Controls:

• Limited to showing or hiding the Powered by Rapport logo

Premium Features

• Social share buttons (Web Page only) – Let users share the experience

• Powered by Rapport logo (Web Page & Web Widget) – Show or hide branding

• Use Web Page if you want full control over look and feel.

• Use Web Widget if you’re embedding into a site — simple setup, lighter options.
